Our Instructors

Jessa Peterson - Founder & Owner

Jessa Peterson helped pioneer a modern yoga culture in Manhattan, Kansas after returning home from Los Angeles and opening a studio she grew over the next fifteen years. She began teaching in 2007 and has led more than 15,000 classes. An E-RYT 500, Jessa leads 200-hour teacher trainings and 100-hour mentorships, and she’s passionate about making yoga accessible, effective, and individualized—because there’s no one-size-fits-all practice. Known for her grounded style and community-first approach, Jessa loves helping students grow in strength, confidence, and connection on and off the mat. In 2023, Jessa started an athleisure wear brand, called C5Y to complement the yoga studio. She is also an ultra-runner along with her Brian. And has two children, Indie and Crew.

Alison Pugh - Wamego Studio Owner

ALISON SCOTT PUGH GREW UP DANCING IN SALINA, KS. IN COLLEGE, SHE CAME TO UNDERSTAND THAT DANCING JOBS FOR 6-FOOT-TALL WOMEN WERE SCARCE. IT WAS IN WORKING THROUGH THIS DISAPPOINTMENT THAT SHE DISCOVERED AND FELL IN LOVE WITH YOGA. SINCE THOSE COLLEGE DAYS OVER 20 YEARS AGO, ALISON HAS BEEN A CONSTANT PRACTITIONER THROUGH HER MOVE TO WAMEGO IN 2004, THE BIRTH OF HER FIRST CHILD, PIPPA, AND THE BIRTH OF HER TWINS, CLEMENTINE AND OLIVER. SHE FINDS THAT YOGA HAS TAUGHT HER FOCUS AND CLARITY OF MIND WHILE MAINTAINING THE CONTROL OVER HER BODY THAT SHE LEARNED DURING THOSE EARLY YEARS IN DANCE. IN 2021, ALISON COMPLETED 200-HOUR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING WITH HER MENTOR, JESSA VOSS, OWNER OF CHAPTER 5 YOGA. IN SEPTEMBER 2022, SHE OPENED CHAPTER 5 YOGA WAMEGO, AN OFF SHOOT OF CHAPTER 5 YOGA, TO SHARE HER LOVE OF YOGA WITH WAMEGO, THE COMMUNITY SHE LOVES.
